Mindbox finds a new home in Redding, California

Just a couple months ago our founder, Joshua Johnson, packed his family into a truck and all of his belongings into a trailer to head to Northern California in hopes of broadening the reach of Mindbox Studios and investing in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Shasta County and the City of Redding.

In previous trips to Redding Joshua met Hope Seth, the Director of Entrepreneurial Development for the Economic Development Corporation of Shasta County, who asked if Joshua could serve as an Entrepreneur-In-Resident for the new Shasta Venture Hub (SVH). Joshua is serving in this role with Luke Miner, founder of YouCaring.com and local startup community builder.

On September 1, 2015 the Shasta Venture Hub opened it’s doors in Redding, California to entrepreneurs, developers, designers, and freelancers of all sorts. This 15,000 square foot incubator offers more than enough space for its inhabitants to do work. As a member of the Venture Hub community, you can enjoy benefits such as collaborative work space, mentoring, open desk areas, fast internet, and furnished conference rooms.

Of course Joshua could have worked from home or in a trendy coffee shop, but the Venture Hub is so much more than a desk to work on throughout the day. It’s a community of entrepreneurs, technologists, inventors, creatives, mentors and investors dedicated to launching successful ventures. It’s a developing community to push you further, faster, and stronger.

Joshua and Mindbox Studios happily joined the Shasta Venture Hub this Fall. He also has a small office so he can escape the ruckus of the commons area whenever he needs, but not losing access to connecting with other entrepreneurs and quality ping pong matches.

Joshua isn’t only an Entrepreneur-In-Residence at the Shasta Venture Hub–  he is also helping coordinate the first ever Startup Weekend Redding coming November 20, 2015.

We’re excited to have Joshua on the West Coast where he can be closer to our team in Eugene, Oregon, and reaching more clients in need of custom software. A special thanks to our fearless leader for laying it all on the line to make Mindbox Studios the best it can possibly be. We are incredibly thankful to have you leading the charge!
